Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains our policies regarding refunds, cancellations, and billing for ParrotOS Academy's paid features and donations. By making a payment through our Platform, you agree to this policy.

1. Overview

ParrotOS Academy offers all core educational content free of charge. We accept voluntary donations and offer optional paid subscription tiers to support the Platform and provide additional features. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment processor.

2. One-Time Donations

Policy

One-time donations are voluntary contributions made to support ParrotOS Academy's mission of providing free cybersecurity education. These donations are non-refundable except in cases of technical error or unauthorized transactions.

Non-Refundable Nature

Donations are considered final upon processing. Because donations directly support our operational costs and free content development, we are unable to provide refunds for completed donation transactions. By making a donation, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily contributing to support the Platform without expectation of goods or services in return beyond access to core features already available to all users.

Exceptions

We will provide refunds for one-time donations only in the following circumstances: duplicate charges resulting from technical errors, unauthorized transactions made without your consent, or payment processing errors where you were charged an incorrect amount. To request a refund under these circumstances, please contact us within thirty days of the transaction at [email protected] with your transaction details and a description of the error.

3. Monthly and Annual Subscriptions

Subscription Tiers

ParrotOS Academy offers the following subscription options: Supporter tier at five dollars per month or fifty dollars per year, and Super Supporter tier at twenty dollars per month or two hundred dollars per year. Subscriptions provide access to premium features and help sustain the Platform's free educational content.

Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions are billed automatically on a recurring basis according to your chosen billing cycle (monthly or annual). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorize Stripe to charge your payment method for all subscription fees. If your payment method fails or your account is past due, we may suspend your access to premium features until payment is received.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings on the Platform or by contacting us at [email protected]. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the end of the paid period. No partial refunds will be provided for the remaining time in your current billing cycle.

Example: If you have a monthly subscription that renews on the fifteenth of each month and you cancel on the tenth, you will continue to have access to premium features until the fifteenth, and your subscription will not renew. You will not receive a refund for the days between the tenth and the fifteenth.

Refund Policy for Subscriptions

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable. However, we may provide refunds at our sole discretion in the following circumstances:

First-Time Subscribers: If you are dissatisfied with your first subscription purchase, you may request a full refund within seven days of your initial subscription date. This one-time courtesy refund is available only for your first subscription purchase and does not apply to renewals.

Technical Issues: If you experience significant technical problems that prevent you from accessing premium features for more than seventy-two consecutive hours and we are unable to resolve the issue, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for the affected period.

Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly due to a technical or administrative error, we will refund the incorrect charge.

Unauthorized Charges: If your payment method was charged without your authorization, we will investigate and provide a full refund if the claim is verified.

Annual Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions are paid in full at the beginning of the subscription period. If you cancel an annual subscription, you will retain access to premium features for the full year you have paid for, but the subscription will not renew. Refunds for annual subscriptions follow the same policy as monthly subscriptions: a full refund is available within seven days of initial purchase for first-time subscribers, but no prorated refunds are provided for cancellations after the seven-day period.

4. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period. If we increase the price of your subscription tier, we will notify you at least thirty days before the change takes effect. The new price will apply to your next renewal after the notice period. You may cancel your subscription before the renewal date if you do not wish to pay the new price.

5. Free Trial Periods

From time to time, we may offer free trial periods for subscription tiers. Free trials allow you to access premium features for a limited time without charge. At the end of the trial period, your payment method will be automatically charged for the subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. You may cancel a free trial at any time during the trial period without being charged.

If you have previously used a free trial for a specific subscription tier, you may not be eligible for another free trial of the same tier. Free trial eligibility is determined at our sole discretion.

6. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within seven to ten business days of approval. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Depending on your financial institution, it may take an additional five to ten business days for the refund to appear in your account.

We are not responsible for any fees charged by your bank or payment provider in connection with the original transaction or the refund.

7. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you dispute a charge with your credit card company or payment provider (a "chargeback") without first contacting us to resolve the issue, we reserve the right to immediately terminate your account and access to the Platform. Chargebacks result in additional fees and administrative costs for us. We encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] to resolve any billing concerns before initiating a chargeback.

If a chargeback is found to be fraudulent or unjustified, we may pursue legal action to recover the disputed amount plus any associated fees and costs.

8. Account Termination and Refunds

If we terminate your account for violation of our Terms of Service, you will not be entitled to any refund of subscription fees or donations. If you voluntarily terminate your account, standard cancellation and refund policies apply as described in this document.

9. No Refunds for Completed Services

Refunds are not available for services that have already been fully delivered or consumed. This includes access to premium content, completed learning modules, earned certificates, and forum participation. Once you have accessed premium features or content, those services are considered delivered.

10. Tax and Currency

All prices are listed in United States dollars (USD). You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or government charges associated with your purchase. Refunds, if approved, will be issued in the same currency as the original purchase.

Currency conversion fees charged by your bank or payment provider are not refundable. If you are charged in a currency different from USD, exchange rate fluctuations may result in a refund amount that differs slightly from the original charge when converted back to your local currency.

12. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the Platform at least thirty days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of paid features after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Changes to this policy will not affect refund requests for transactions that occurred before the policy change.

13. Legal Rights

This policy does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws. If you are located in a jurisdiction that does not allow certain limitations on refunds or cancellations, those limitations may not apply to you.
